A FLAWLESS and patient innings of 99 runs by Aditya Shrivastava helped Bhopal score 311 for three against BHEL team at the end of the first day’s play in the AW Kanmadikar under-15 cricket tournament at the Bab-e-Aali Stadium on Thursday.
Winning the toss, skipper Aditya Shrivastava decided to bat. Playing their first match of the tournament, the Bhopal boys showed excellent temperament.
Openers Abhishek Singh and Atul Vadicahr stitched 97-run partnership for the first wicket in 35 overs. While lofting a Dharmendra delivery dancing down the wicket, Atul was stumped at his individual score of 38 runs. Abhishek lost his wicket at the team’s score of 133 runs. He scored 66 runs.
One down Aditya Shrivastava and two down Anupam Toppo moved the score by stealing ones and twos. Anupam, who was looking comfortable, failed to read a delivery of Abhijeet that uprooted the stumps.
He scored 42 runs. Aditya, in his fabulous innings, scored runs without giving any opportunity to the bowlers. He scored 99 runs.
At the end of the day, Aditya was unbeaten on 99 runs, while Aamir Khan remained not out on 18. Bhopal scored 311 runs for three wickets. Earlier, BDCA Joint Secretary CS Dhakad and Hamidullah Khan ‘Mamu’ were introduced to the players of both the teams.
