Bhopal start on a winning note

BHOPAL started their campaign on a winning note in the All-India BHEL inter-unit kabaddi championship on Thursday. Bhopal defeated Jagdishpur, Delhi and Hyderabad.  

In the first match against Jagdishpur, Bhopal registered a thumping 30-point win. Bhopal raiders scored points on every occasion while the stoppers of Jagdishpur failed to stop the opponents from scoring points. Bhopal scored 31 points against the one point scored by Jagdishpur.

Bhopal won the second match defeating Delhi by six points. However, Bhopal faced a tough fight from Delhi. Bhopal raiders repeated their mistakes giving opportunities to the stoppers of Delhi to score points. But good support from the stoppers of the capital team helped the team win by six points.

Bhopal scored 38 points against the 32 points scored by Delhi. Maintaining the rhythm, Bhopal defeated Hyderabad by 57 points in the third match. In the other matches, Bangalore defeated Hyderabad by six points, Raniped beat Haridwar by three points, Tirchi defeated RC Puram by six points and Delhi beat Jagdishpur by one point. 

Earlier, BHEL General Manager NC Prasad inaugurated the championship. BHEL Additional General Manager AK Bhattacharya, DGM (Sports) KM Bhasin, Secretary RS Thakur, Joint Secretary Ramesh Patil, Jairam Thakur and others were present on the occasion.
