Bhopal win on first innings lead

BHOPAL DEFEATED Jabalpur on the basis of 166-run first innings lead in the Maharaja Yeshwantrao Memorial Senior Division Cricket Tournament match that concluded at Bab-e-Aali Stadium on Wednesday.

Jabalpur resumed the innings at the Tuesday’s score of 176 for the loss of four wickets. Jabalpur opener Brajesh, who played superbly on the second day, was out after scoring 111 runs. Bhopal skipper Sohail Masood bowled him. Brajesh’s partner Shashank Singh also was also out soon after contributing 66 runs.

Jabalpur, who had scored 176 runs for the loss of four wickets on Tuesday, were bundled out at the score of 249 runs. Sohail Masood and Sunny Bhatnagar claimed four wickets each.

Bhopal started the second innings with the lead of 160 runs and lost three batsmen in quick session. At the score of 78 runs for the loss of three wickets, the two skippers decided to call off the match before the stipulated time. As Bhopal had the lead of 166 runs, it was declared winner. Bhopal Divisional Cricket Association (BDCA) office-bearers congratulated the team.
