Gaganjeet Bhullar and Gagan Verma shot a two-under 70 to storm into lead after the opening round of the Royal Challenge Northern India Amateur Golf Championship at the par-72 Classic Golf Resort here on Wednesday.

Jasjeet Singh and Saurabh Bahuguna shot a 71 to share the third place with overnight leaders Lahiri, Gaurav Pratap and Bhawani Singh.

The second round play was abandoned due to heavy rains immediately after the players completed their first round.
