The district police have booked two teachers and two students for attempting to murder a girl student of a boarding school at Mor Majra village, about 40km from here, on Wednesday.

Priyanka, 16, a student of Sanskrit Visharad course at Arya Kanya Gurukul, was admitted to a private hospital with multiple injuries late on Monday night.

She allegedly fell from the second floor of the hostel on Monday evening and was taken to a private hospital in the city by the school administration. Besides legs, Priyanka has suffered fractures on her backbone. As her condition improved on Wednesday, doctors allowed the police to record her statement.

A resident of Raseena village of the district, Priyanka had joined the school in July this year. She alleged that two fellow hostellers used to misbehave with her regularly and forced her to wash their clothes. All girls are from the same batch.

Ram Kumar, station house officer (SHO) of the Assandh police station, said that the victim had alleged that on Monday, Sanskrit teachers Rajbala and Phool Kali and the two girls beat her up for reporting the matter to the principal.

Later, she was allegedly thrown from the hostel building, leaving her severely injured. The SHO said that a case under sections 307 (attempt to murder), 120-B (criminal conspiracy) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) had been registered.

The victim's father Ranbir Singh alleged that despite several complaints, the school management did not act against the two girls misbehaving with Priyanka.

“I met the principal on August 11 and told her that Priyanka was being harassed in the hostel. As she did not take any step, my daughter suffered grave injuries with the involvement of teachers and the two students in question,” he alleged.

Meanwhile, rubbishing the charges, the school management claimed that in a fit of rage, Priyanka had herself jumped off the building.

Principal Nirmala Arya alleged that the victim's parents were trying to blackmail the school management by giving false version that an attempt was made to kill her.

“This is true that Priyanka was not maintaining cordial relations with her classmates in the hostel. On Monday, teachers strictly asked the girls to stay in discipline. We do not know what prompted Priyanka that she jumped off the hostel building,” the principal added.
