Amitabh Bachchan is shrouded in the kind of secrecy and security that would leave the CIA baffled. Big B, who was in Delhi with son Abhishek to shoot for Paa, was spotted going around town with his head hidden in a towel. Guards were posted at all the shoot locations to ensure that no one got even a glimpse of the star’s super-secret look.

When the HT City team reached one location, we were asked to leave at once, and told that no photography was allowed. An ultimatum was issued by one of the eight bouncers in attendance: “Click and the camera will be snatched and smashed.”
The entire shooting area was covered with black curtains. Not only that, the crew kept changing locations almost every other hour to dodge the media. On Tuesday, they shot, among other places, at The Grand Hotel and DLF Place mall, Vasant Kunj.

The reason for this unprecedented security is Amitabh’s ‘look’ in Paa, directed by R Balki of Cheeni Kum fame. The film, say sources, is about a child who ages much faster than normal children; hence in a curious casting twist, Abhishek and Vidya Balan play Amitabh’s parents.

Make-up artists have been flown in from Hollywood to create Amitabh’s look. The actor, who calls his look ‘The Face’ on his blog, wrote, “And I have to be up at 2:30 am to start my prosthetics for the shoot to start by 7 AM!!” A source confirms, “ It takes him five hours to get the make-up done, and two hours to remove it.” What’s more, Bachchan is even following a special diet to keep the look in place. “There are many layers of make-up and prosthetics on his face. He can’t be allowed to sweat. It’s very tiring, so we ensure he gets a high-energy diet,” says our source.
