Bihar Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi on Tuesday resigned from the Lok Sabha following his election to the state Legislative Council.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Tuesday resigned from the Lok Sabha following his election to the state Legislative Council.
Modi tendered his resignation to Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee in the presence of several BJP MPs.

Chatterjee accepted the resignation.
Modi was elected to the Lok Sabha from Bhagalpur constituency in the 2004 Lok Sabha elections.
After becoming the Deputy Chief Minister in the NDA Government in Bihar last year, he was elected to the Legislative Council and was sworn-in on May seven.
