Four minor boys were thrashed, tonsured and paraded almost naked in a Bihar village on Friday evening for allegedly talking to girls.
The incident took place Bakhari village in East Champaran district, about 160km from state capital Patna. The boys were later tied to tree for an entire night. Police rescued them on Saturday.
Local people say they were tortured after being caught red-handed while talking to village girls in an orchard. The girls, however, managed to escape.
According to local residents, the boys were making trips of the area on their bikes for the last several days. The villagers also seized their bikes and mobile phones.
East Champaran superintendent of police Sudhir Kumar Singh said separate FIRs were lodged by both the parties in connection with the incident.
The minors were granted bail by the police station concerned and released.
