A two-day national executive meeting of the BJP would take place in Patna from June 12 to discuss strategy for the assembly election in Bihar due towards the end of this year.
Senior party leaders L K Advani, leader of opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj, leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley, party president Nitin Gadkari would attend the meet, BJP National General Secretary Dharmendra Pradhan said today.
Pradhan and party National General Secretary (organisation) Ram Lal reviewed the preparations for the meet attended among others by state BJP President Dr C P Thakur, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi and state ministers, Nand Kishore Yadav and Ashwani Kumar Choubey.
Asked whether Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi would be attending the meeting, Pradhan said all the BJP chief ministers would attend the meeting.
"We selected Patna for the meet as the state assembly poll will take place later this year and we have to formulate a comprehensive plan to ensure that the NDA, led by Nitish Kumar, stages a come back," he said.
Other national issues which would come up for discussions were escalating prices and alleged failure of the UPA government at the Centre to check Maoist violence.
In reply to another question, Pradhan said senior party leader and Lok Sabha member from Patna Saheb Shatrughan Sinha would also be participating in the meeting.
A rally would be organised at Gandhi Maidan in Patna on June 13 would be addressed by senior BJP leaders.
