India's business aviation industry, which includes charters of private jets and choppers by companies and hospitals, will witness a three-fold growth in the next ten years, estimates the Business Aircraft Operators' Association (BAOA). The business aviation fleet that stood at 552 last year is projected to touch 1800 by 2020, it said.

"The business aviation industry is growing at an encouraging rate and India is all set to be the third largest aviation market by 2020, considering more than 1000 aircrafts to be added over the next ten years" said Rohit Kapur, president, BAOA. "The growth in business aviation has outgrown the infrastructure available for the industry. We will be seeking support and cooperation from the regulatory bodies to develop adequate infrastructure and facilities for business aviation."
