BHARATIYA JANSHAKTI leaders and workers are peeved over power cuts. However, for them it is not a public issue, at least not for the moment. They are upset over ‘’deliberately’ cutting off power supply during Uma Bharti’s Bharat Bachao Yatra in the State.

The party leaders today submitted a memorandum to Governor Dr Balram Jakhar alleging that when Uma Bharti’s yatra entered the State and passed through Betul, Itarasi, Hoshangabad, Vidisha and Ganjbasoda unscheduled power cuts were resorted to on June 11.

Thus the lives of leaders, who are provided special security, is being jeopardised.  The memorandum said any anti-social element or terrorist can carry out his plan taking advantage of darkness. Even if it was not any terrorist or anti-social element the stray cattle could create chaos. Umaji’s yatra saw gathering of a good number of women, hence darkness can lead to an ugly situation in the gathering.

They termed power cuts during the yatra could not be a coincidence but a conspiracy. They urged the Governor to issue directive to the State Government not to compromise with the security of Uma Bharti and take action against those who were responsible for power cuts. The delegation of the leaders and workers was led by Prahlad Patel and Bhagwandas Sabnani.
