BHARATIYA JANSHAKTI party activists today gheraoed the Hawa Bungalow zone office to protest abysmal civic infrastructure in Assembly constituency number 4 and warned of Citywide protests if things did not improve within 25 days.
The protestors, led by former corporator Parmanand Sisodia, charged that bad roads, nonexistent sanitation, leaky drainage pipes and proliferation of illegal structures had made life hell for inhabitants.
Instead of initiating corrective measures both Congress and BJP leaders are concentrating on lining their pockets, they charged. In a statement released after the protest, Sisodia charged that the demonstration at Hawa Bungalow was only symbolic because civic conditions were equally bad all over the City.
The Janshakti leader declared that his party would stage a demonstration once every five days at one zone office in each of the 5 Assembly segments. ‘‘If there is no improvement within these days we will then stage a demonstration at IMC
headquarters during which direct action would be taken against elected representatives and officials who neglect their duties.’’
Rajesh Karosia, Mukesh Solanki, Yogesh Hardia, Kamlesah Kunde and Vikram Thakur were among those who took part in the Hawa Bungalow gherao.
