BHARTIYA JANSHAKTI party leader Inder Prajapat and some other party workers descended upon a controversial plot (number 16/1) in South Tukoganj area today and claimed its ownership by erecting a board bearing his name.
The plot is situated in front of the house of Congress leader Raghu Parmar and is currently being used by him. Sensing a volatile situation a large police force was deployed in the area.
According to sources, Prajapat along with Parmanand Sisodiya and other supporters got a board with his name and mobile number erected on the plot. Prajapat claimed that he had purchased the plot from a Christian youth and presented documentary proof in his regard. Meanwhile, some other people claimed that Parmar owns the land.
The plot is currently being used as vehicle parking by Parmar who has got a tin shed erected on the lot. The shed was also removed by Prajapat’s men today.
Prajapat showed land registry of the plot in his name to Superintendent of Police Anshuman Yadav who deferred the matter to September 18 by when Parmar would be back in the city to present his side of the case. The matter could be solved only after that.
The plot had created controversy earlier, too, when two parties went to court in 1990 and later reached an out of court settlement in January 1999. The expensive piece of land has remained vacant ever since making it a target of land mafia and other such elements.
