A BJP activist was shot at and a party office ransacked in separate incidents in Jharkhand, police said on Friday.

BJP activist, Shagir Hussain (40) was shot at by unidentified miscreants at Arjun Beda under Baharagora assembly segment Thursday night.

Hussain alongwith two others was on his way to party office when the incident took place, the police said.

He was rushed to Baharagora hospital.

Police said seven AJSU activists were arrested for ransacking the central election office of BJP at Maubhandar under Ghatsila assembly segment, hours after the election campaign for the fourth phase came to an end on Thursday.

Peeved at the alleged propaganda that AJSU party candidate, Kanu Samant was not taking part in the electoral process, his party activists ransacked the party office set up in a hotel room at Daigora Thursday night, sources said.

Of the six assembly segments in East Singhbhum district, Baharagora, Ghatsila and Potka (both reserved) will go to poll on Saturday while the polling for Jamshedpur East and West and Jugsalai (reserved) assembly seats had taken place in the first phase on November 25.
