The BJP in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday asked the Centre and the state to act swiftly against the "inimical" elements from across the border which it accused of creating tension in the Valley.

"We demand the State and New Delhi act swiftly against such forces. The dilly-dallying tactics of state government could pose a bigger problem both at home as well as the Line of Control (LOC)," former union minister and senior BJP leader Chaman Lal Gupta told reporters in Jammu

The serious situation has encouraged "perpetrators of cross-border terror" to the extent they have been emboldened to indulge in repeated violations of cease-fire along the LoC in Jammu, he said.
