BJP candidate Kapoor Chand Ghuvara and Bharatiya Janshakti candidate Rekha Yadav filed their nomination papers for Bada Malehra assembly seat by-elections on Wednesday.

Ghuvara filed his papers at Chhatarpur district headquarters in presence of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, State BJP president Satyanarayan Jatia and other leaders while Rekha was accompanied by the Sadhvi.

Ghuvara reached the collectorate in a procession along with his followers after performing pooja at a local temple. Addressing an election meeting on the occasion, the CM said the State Government would compensate the lack of development in the past 50 years with the development in the next two-and-a-half years.

He said the BJP had fielded a strong candidate from Bada Malehra, hence all other parties felt cornered. Jatia said the BJP would achieve victory on the ground of development work done under the leadership of Chouhan. Those present on the occasion included Jayant Malaiya, Arvind Bhadoria, Shailendra Barua, Dr Ramkrishna Kusmaria, Chandrabhan Singh, Akhand Pratap Singh and others.
