Vidisha district BJP unit has sent a panel of names for the Lok Sabha seat in which Sadhana Singh’s name is on the top. Another prospective candidate is CM’s staunch loyalist and PHE Minister Rampal Singh.

However, party sources said, several members of the State BJP election committee including president Satyanarayan Jatia, Vikram Verma, Kailash Joshi and Sumitra Mahajan might not  endorse Sadhana Singh’s name on the ground that she has lacks political experience.

Besides, her candidature would considerably weaken the BJP’s case vis-à-vis Congress’s love for ‘dynastic rule’, sources added.

A final decision on the candidate for Vidisha seat would be taken by the party’s central leadership, which appears to be mulling Varun Gandhi’s name.

The party is still in dilemma about candidate for Bada Malehra. “It is strange that the BJP has not been able to decide candidates for Vidisha and Bada Malehra in the past six months”, Bharatiya Janshakti State general secretary Bhagwandas Sabnani said.

If the BJP is facing crisis of candidates, the BJ’s dilemma is no less acute. BJ leaders feel that if Uma concedes to their demand to contest Vidisha, the party could create a history there. But there is a fear too that if she loses she might never recover from the loss of face. This section wants Uma to contest Bada Malehra and Prahlad Patel or Raghunandan Sharma from Vidisha.
