BJP braces up workers for LS elections

Bracing up for the 2014 general elections, the BJP is focusing on personality development of leaders to woo voters. A total of four sessions were held on the second day of the three-day workshop of the state BJP in which leader of opposition and former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, veteran party leader and Rajya Sabha member Shanta Kumar, BJP national general secretary JP Nadda and state party in- charge Balbir Punj taught the delegates various subjects.

Bracing up for the 2014 general elections, the BJP is focusing on personality development of leaders to woo voters.


A total of four sessions were held on the second day of the three-day workshop of the state BJP in which leader of opposition and former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, veteran party leader and Rajya Sabha member Shanta Kumar, BJP national general secretary JP Nadda and state party in- charge Balbir Punj taught the delegates various subjects.

Taking a session on personality development and time management, Nadda said, “Grassroots worker makes an important part of any political organisation and his personality development is even more important.”

“Only a dedicated worker could contribute in building a better society,” Nadda said, adding that people associated with the BJP should have a good personality as people's expectation from the saffron party worker always remain high as compared to activists of other parties.

He also stressed upon time management in the life of a political leaders and workers.

Earlier, Kumar took a session on “History of BJP and its development”.

Terming the history of saffron party as bright and glorious, Kumar elaborated about the circumstances leading to formation of the Jan Sangh and later BJP. Maintaining that the party has never compromised with its principles, Kumar said it was the responsibility of each party worker to be committed for the party ideology and take it forward.

In another session, Dhumal taught the delegates election management and poll issues. He said the main objective of the party was society building rather than coming into power.

“Being a political outfit, the BJP participates in elections as it is an important platform for society building,” said Dhumal.

He said, “Every small event that occurs in the society affects direction and state of politics, but the election results matters a lot and any party has to face criticism on election management and issues raised by it.”

“Right election management and accurate issues are very important in electoral politics,” said Dhumal.

Earlier, state BJP in charge Balbir Punj took a lesson on media management in the evening session on the day first of the workshop on Friday.
