Bharatiya Janata Party member of Parliament and incharge of party affairs in Jammu and Kashmir Avinash Rai Khanna has said that J&K was the only state in the country where more than 12 lakh people are living with the tag of refugees.

He said that calling them refugee was a curse they have been forced to live with and the BJP would work to get it removed.

State president Jugal Kishore Sharma reiterating party's commitment for the cause of refugees, said that the party would continue to fight for the cause of those who were being discriminated against.

Leader of BJP legislature party Ashok Khajuria said that the refugees needed to be educated about the dual speak of NC and Congress leaders, who advocate that refugees should get rights but don't explain as to who will grant these rights to them. He said that the people have made up their mind to teach NC and Congress a lesson.

National executive member Shamsher Singh Manhas said that refugees in J&K had always been ignored. He said that the NC and Congress had only made false promises of giving plots, compensation and other packages to the refugees.

The BJP leaders were taking part in the Refugee Adhikaar Yatra on its last day in RS Pura on Friday.
