'BJP giving communal angle to blasts'

india Updated: Nov 12, 2008 19:55 IST

The Assam government on Wednesday accused BJP and RSS of trying to provide a communal angle to terror in the aftermath of last month's serial blasts that claimed 84 lives.

"It is a nefarious design of BJP and RSS to give a communal angle to the situation in the aftermath of the blasts and trying to fan communal passion," government spokesman and senior minister Himanta Biswa Sarma told reporters in Guwahati .

Reacting to the allegation levelled by the banned ULFA that he was an RSS man and the blasts were carried out by the Sangh Parivar, Sarma said there were various charges including that by the BJP that he supported jehadi forces.

"Four evil forces - ULFA, NDFB, RSS and the fundamentalists are up against me...It is a matter of satisfaction that the enemy of the people are levelling allegation against me...But our fight against these evil forces will go on," he said.

Sarma accused senior BJP leader and former minister Bijoya Chakravarty of trying to fan communal passion by ordering three charred bodies to be carried in a cart to the secretariat complex soon after the blast at Ganeshguri.

"We will take action against her and file a police case as there is TV footage proving this...This is inhuman," he said.

There was conclusive evidence of NDFB and ULFA involvement and investigation was on to ascertain whether any foreign forces were involved blast, he added.
