Prime Minsiter Manmohan Singh on Tuesday took a dig at BJP's projection of LK Advani as its next prime ministerial candidate, saying it was done because the party feared "danger" from Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

"Modi se khatra tha, isiliye BJP ne Advani ki taj poshi kar di hai (Fearing danger from Modi, BJP has crowned Advani)," he remarked while talking to mediapersons in Vadodara.

Singh declined to comment further on the issue stating that it was an internal affair of the Bhartaiya Janata Party (BJP).
