“There is no need to comment on the BJP as the party is already neck deep in corruption,” said Virbhadra Singh during election campaign at Banjar area in Kullu district on Saturday.
Addressing the gathering, he said in the previous BJP government regime, corruption was high in the state and privacy of the common man was invaded by using illegal method of phone tapping.
Lashing out at former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, he said during his tenure Himachal land was sold to outsiders in violation of Section 118A of the Tenancy and Land Reforms Act 1972; under which a massive area of land was given to the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA), driven by his MP son Anurag Thakur for construction of five-star hotel.
Singh asked the voters of Kullu district to support his wife Pratibha Singh in the Mandi bypoll and ensure her victory with a huge margin.
He said she had already served the people of this constituency and now this was the right time to wipe out corrupt party candidates.
The Congress was a party of the common man and it ensured the development of the state equally, added Singh.
He said the BJP showed bias on development issue and only one district got development work where the former chief minister belonged to.
