BJP on Friday said their priority would be to introduce Inner Line Permits (ILP) in the Andaman and Nicobar islands if they win the April 16 Lok Sabha polls.

“Inner Line Permits is a must for these islands to stop the influx of people and also to ensure the safety and security of these islands,” BJP candidate Bishnu Pada Ray told PTI.

Promising that ILP would be introduced immediately after their win, he said that BJP will not compromise with anti-socials and terrorists.

“Poachers and illegal migrants create a grave threat to the safety and sovereignty of these islands,” he added.

Criticising the UPA govt for its ‘failure´ to properly utilise the tsunami relief fund, Ray said that even four years after tsunami there are families in the islands who are still awaiting relief and rehabilitation.
