BJP, RLD to make joint campaigns in entire UP

RLD chief Ajit Singh will address election rallies with BJP stalwarts like L K Advani and Rajnath Singh as part of a joint campaign the new found alliance in Uttar Pradesh, a spokesperson of the regional party said.
"A joint campaign committee is being formed of both the parties which would chalk out the details of joint election rallies all over Uttar Pradesh soon," RLD spokesman Anil Dubey said.
The leaders of both the parties including the RLD chief Ajit Singh and BJP leaders like L K Advani and Rajnath Singh would jointly address election meetings all over the state, Dubey said adding that the first joint meeting was scheduled to be held in Mathura later this month from where Ajit Singh's son, Jayant Singh is the candidate of the alliance.
BJP sources said these joint election meetings are aimed at sending a signal of unity among the workers of both the parties who have been made to come together through this alliance as till now they had been on different platforms.
Meanwhile, RLD said the party is still negotiating for more seats though there had been agreement on about six seats including Mathura, Muzaffarnagar, Amroha, Hathras and Nagina.
It wants to contest at least 10 seats including Saharanpur, Meerut, Bijnore and Sambhal, sources said.
