Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu and Kashmir prabhari (in-charge) Avinash Rai Khanna, along with state party president Jugal Kishore Sharma and other senior leaders, will undertake a five-day tour of the Jammu province from Tuesday.
Khanna will reach Lakhanpur in the morning and hold a meeting with party leaders of Kathua and Samba districts en route Jammu, a press release said. Khanna, who is also a parliamentarian, is scheduled to visit Doda, Paddar and Kishtwar to hold meetings with party leaders, besides visiting the riots-hit area of Kishtwar to take stock of the losses.
The MP will visit Nowshera to meet local party leaders and hold separate meetings with the BJP state election committee and core group in Jammu, besides attending a public programme at Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra in Talab Tillo area of Jammu.
BJP state president Sharma, elaborating on the rationale of the five-day tour, said the party headquarters had directed the state 'prabhari' and other leaders to devote more time to the state, reach out to party leaders of the districts, compile a feedback report about the party's position and organisational set-up, and give suggestions to chalk out a strategy to win maximum seats in the next assembly elections.
"Khanna is aware of the geographic and political scenario of the state as he has already visited all three regions during the past six months. The state unit is confident of securing the desired results under his guidance," Sharma added.
