BJP took on Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi today for his 'Bihar Shining' comment and said the Congress would get a befitting reply on November 24 when the votes for the Bihar assembly polls would be counted.
Responding to a question by newsmen here, BJP national spokesman Ravi Shankar Prasad said India was indeed shining in 2004 when the slogan was made by the NDA but the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government lost the polls despite the development ushered in by it.
"This time NDA will give a befitting reply in Bihar. It will return to power aided by its performance in the past five years," he said and criticised the Amethi MP for drawing the analogy.
Gandhi during his recent poll campaigns in Bihar had said the ruling NDA was projecting 'Bihar Shining', which would boomerang like its 'India Shining' six years ago.
