BJP to take out Vande Maatram yatra

As part of its resolve to celebrate the centenary of the composition of the national song Vande Mataram with great fervour and in style, the Punjab unit of BJP will take out a Vande Mataram Shatabadi Yatra on September 7 in the state.

Stating this in Chandigarh on Wednesday, Vijay Sampla, party spokesman said that the state BJP chief Avinash Rai Khanna will lead the yatra, which will commence from Hoshiarpur.

The yatra will culminate at Chandigarh on the same day after passing through the districts of Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahar, Ropar and Mohali.

During the course of the yatra, one lakh copies of the audio cassettes of the song Vande Mataram will be distributed.
