BJP state president Jugal Kishore Sharma while addressing a press conference here on Saturday warned that if the administration fails to take appropriate action, the party would be forced to resort to more aggressive and state-wide agitation from Monday after the culmination of Dussehra festival.

While giving details and objectives of party's 'Rajouri Chalo' protest on Friday, Jugal Kishore Sharma said the programme was meant to express party's solidarity with the minority community in Rajouri and to pressurise the coalition government to give full protection to the minorities without any discrimination.

He said during the protest, several senior leaders of the party were detained and illegally prevented from proceeding to meet their party workers in Rajouri. He said even the MLAs were not allowed to go and meet the people which is total violation of their democratic rights.

He said had the administration been impartial and serious in resolving the issue, then instead of registering FIRs against members of the minority group, it could have booked the members of the majority community, who trespassed into the Ramlila ground and attacked the former while they
were making preparations.

He said this was a deliberate attempt to disturb the celebrations, to create communal tension.
Sharma warned that if the issue was not resolved on the eve of Dusshera, BJP would hold consultations with like-minded social groups and organisations to launch a decisive agitation against Omar Abdullah government and its communal policies.
