BHARATIYA JANATA Party (BJP) workers went on the rampage today and broke glasses of a chamber in Bhopal Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) zonal office at Chandbarh in protest against the water crisis and poor sanitation in ward number 41 and 42. BMC administration has filed an FIR against BJP workers.

BJP’s Station Mandal organised this demonstration and dharna at the BMC office of zone 13. Workers alleged there was persistent water crisis in the area besides poor sanitation creating unhygienic conditions. About 100 workers and local citizens were present during this demonstration.

Those leading the demonstration include the BJP’s ward 41 unit president Rajendra Jain, district BJYM secretary Anand Agrawal, Station Mandal secretary Ashish Jain,  BJP’s ward 41 unit general secretary Harish Sharma and district BJP secretary Ajay Sharma.

After the demonstration, workers created ruckus inside the zonal office and broke the glasses of the zonal chairperson’s chamber. Amidst this chaos, the BJP leader Chetan Singh submitted the memorandum to the BMC officials.

Later, BMC Commissioner Manish Singh ordered that an FIR be filed against people involved in creating ruckus. In the evening, a clerk in the zonal office, OP Dwivedi filed this FIR on behalf of BMC administration against Rajendra Jain and 25 others. The police have registered the case under sections 147, 353 and 427.
