Taking a cue from the 'caps' that became synonymous with anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare's movement and later with Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi (AAP) party, BJP workers, including Delhi president Vijay Goel, have begun sporting black caps.

Goel, however, claims that they are not following in the footsteps of the Aam Aadmi Party, and had been wearing white caps with the slogan 'Bijli andolan' during protests and demonstrations in the past too.

On Wednesday, during a press meet, Goel along with other members of the par ty were seen sporting black caps.

"We have been wearing these black caps at all protests against power tariff. The black colour is to display our anger and displeasure over what has been happening in the city. There is no question about following AAP or any other party. We have been raising the power tariff issue for the past many years," said Goel.

After AAP started using auto-rickshaws for displaying their advertisements against the Congress government, the BJP too followed suit.
