Slamming the United Progressive Alliance and the state government over their failure in controlling inflation, leaders and members of Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha (BJPYM) on Saturday took out a procession and sold onion at cheap rates to register their protest against rising prices of essential commodities.
BJYM workers lead by its president Bharat Sahani along with chairperson of zila parishad Sheela Kumari, municipal council vice-chairman Pawan Gupta, councillors Manish, Jangi Lal, Krishna Thakur, Sanjay Malik, Mukesh Sharma took out a procession on the Mall road against uncontrolled prices of onion and other commodities. Party workers adopted a novel way to attract the attention of common masses by selling onion at `55 per kg as against `90 per kg in the retail market.
Sahani said the UPA government was playing at the hands of multinational companies as after assuming power, prices of not only petroleum products, but those of essential commodities were also touching the roof. Cautioning people against the nefarious designs of the Congress, he said people should remember that it were wrong economic policies of the Congress that has lead to inflation in the country.
The BJPYM leaders and members pledged that a massive campaign would be launched against the anti-people, anti-farmers and anti-youth policies of the UPA and Virbhadra Singh government to awaken the masses in all five assembly segments of the district.
