After all the hoopla about the brand new Blackberry OS 7 and expectations over the new ensemble phones that will ship with the said OS, RIM has finally launched the first mobile phone that runs the latest Blackberry OS and belongs to the flagship Bold brand.

It's called the Blackberry Bold 9900. It was launched in India today at the price of Rs 32,490.

The Bold 9900 is a major bump up in the hardware department with a 1.2 GHz processor, RIM's proprietary Liquid Graphics display, 8GB on-board memory and dedicated media keys.

This phone is also touted as the thinnest Blackberry smartphone yet. With an elegantly brushed stainless steel frame, sculpted surfaces and advanced composite backing, the BlackBerry Bold 9900is as lightweight and durable as it is feature-packed.

Another first for a Blackberry smartphone is the presence of both a QWERTY keyboard and a touchscreen in the candy bar form factor, ala Nokia E6.
