Hutch's cellular customers will now be able to enjoy BlackBerry solutions that supports wireless access to email, phone, text messaging and other applications, the company said here on Thursday.
The service will be provided by Hutch and Research In Motion (RIM) - a global leader in wireless innovation - and will be available on Hutch GPRS and EDGE networks.
"BlackBerry is a unique and robust mobile solution that offers a wide range of customers, from individuals to large organisations, the connectivity and productivity benefits of wireless information on the go," said Naveen Chopra, chief marketing officer of Hutchison Essar Ltd that provides service in India under the brand name Hutch.
"India is an important market and we're pleased to be working with Hutch to expand our presence in the country", said Norm Lo, vice-president, RIM Asia Pacific region, on the occasion.
In addition to BlackBerry handsets, Hutch will offer their enterprise servers and Internet service.
The Hutch brand operates in 16 circles in India and claims a 19.4 million-subscriber base.
