Two persons were killed and two others seriously injured when a grenade-like object went off within a hospital compound in Dimapur, Nagaland's commercial hub, Saturday afternoon.
Police said hospital cleaner Prakash Viswakarma, 40, and his daughter Ruth Gurung, 16, died on the spot after the former handled an object resembling a grenade. Two others are battling death in the hospital.
"We are trying to find how the explosive happened to be in the hospital," a senior police officer said, adding the role of rebels cannot be ruled out.
