BMC official suspended

india Updated: Feb 19, 2007 01:20 IST

THE BHOPAL Municipal Corporation (BMC) administration has suspended deputy revenue officer Mohammed Arif Khan for issuing the establishment license (Gumashta license) to the lathe machine workshop, which turned out to be a Naxalites’ arm factory recently.

The action was taken after the state home department quizzes the BMC on this issue.

The BMC found that Khan was careless in issuing the license to the workshop. It was found that license was issued without spot verification.

Besides, the BMC administration also shifted some assistant health officers for the effective cleanliness work.
