Long tresses are history for Bobby Deol who is now sporting a crew cut

What's with the crew cut and this lean look?

I was tired of long hair. Also, it was required for my character in my next film. According to my mother, the last time I had short hair I was in class three. She looked at me, and said, ‘

yeh toh chhota Bobby waapis aa gaya hai'

. Initially, I wasn't sure, if it would look good on me. But now I am enjoying it. I am also saving a lot on hair products' expense (laughs).

You have always been a pampered-kid of the family. Isn't it?

Ours is a joint family. My father, my

chacha

,

bhaiyya

and I, live together. So everyone in the family is loved beyond one can imagine. I am the youngest and have been pampered the most. (In between his mom calls and asks his schedule. Bobby finishes and gets back.) See... my mother takes account of my entire routine (smiles).

<b1>

But you are a father too. What kind of equation do you have with your kids?

My sons are very young. But Sunny

bhaiiyya's

sons are in their teens. Right now, the education of four of these boys is of prime importance to us. They share a very strong bond. Hope they continue to do so as they grow up.

It's the end of the year and party time is ahead. What are the plans?

Yah... there will be many parties. But I celebrate New Year's at my farmhouse. I have enjoyed my night outs and clubbing. But now one feels, that ‘what am I doing here?' New Year's eve is a special night, so I like celebrating it with most special people in my life - and that's my family .

How do you spend time?

I love travelling. I am a shopaholic, so is my wife. I can shop for clothes for hours. My wife has a fetish for handbags. After we retire, we can open a clothes and handbags shop.

Deols recently celebrated Dharamji 's birthday. How was it?

We are very simple people. So it was basically the same ritual that we follow every year. First there was

hawan

, then puja and then a Punjabi meal with

lassi

and

jalebis

.

On to the work front, what all has been happening?

I will be seen in four films next year. Plus, I have signed my first endorsement, which is the Pantloon's Winter Collection. So, there's lot of action to look forward to.
