Bodies of the occupants of the missing Pawan Hans helicopter were found in Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday.

S Nitihyanandam, director general of police, said that the bodies were being brought to Khonsa, headquarters of Tirap district.

With improvement in weather conditions, a specially trained mountaineering team from the high altitude school of Jammu and Kashmir had started search operations for the occupants of the missing helicopter early Wednesday morning.

The mountaineering team, which had arrived in Itanagar on Tuesday night, was airlifted by an IAF chopper to be air dropped at the tough hilly terrain where the helicopter had crashed on August 4 last, director general of police S Nitithyanandam told PTI.

The wreckage of the Pawan Hans chopper was found on August 10, six days after it went missing. The bodies of the three occupants were, however, finally located on Wednesday.
