Bokaro: Madrasa teacher under scanner for girl's murder

Jharkhand Police have launched a manhunt for a madrasa teacher, Md Maqsood, in connection with the murder of a 15-year-old girl in the Nawadih area of Bokaro district.

Body of the deceased was found on Sunday at the madrasa where Maqsood used to stay and teach Urdu.

A Class 10 student at a local school, the girl had been missing since Saturday night. Her house was near the madrasa.

Post-mortem report of the deceased was awaited till the filing of this report. The police are also trying to find out whether the girl was raped.

Raids are underway to detain Maqsood. Police have detained another suspect in the case and are interrogating him.

“Maqsood has been made an accused after initial probe,” said Nawadih police station officer-in-charge Deepak Kumar.

Police have reportedly found a bloodstained blanket from Maqsood’s room.
