india Updated: Jun 20, 2006 13:20 IST

In a country where cinema is a religion and people worship stars, the thirst for news and information on the film industry is huge.

And www.bollywoodcountry.com, a new portal on the Indian movie industry, promises to provide that and a lot more.

The portal will reportedly offer exclusive stories, interviews, movie reviews, previews, gossip, news on Hollywood, celebrities, music and television and  regional cinema extensively.

It will also feature exclusive  columns by film writer and critic, Subhash K. Jha.  Says Jha, who pens SKJ's Musing for the portal, "It's a pleasure and an honour to be so closely associated with bollywoodcountry.com. It's already on the way to being the best Bollywood site."

The news section of the site contains channels like Bollywood, Hollywood, Regional Cinema, Television, Fashion & Lifestyle and Music.

The portal publishes exclusive interviews of Bollywood biggies regularly and offers visually appealing celebrity and movie wallpapers and all the latest movies stills. It also conducts online opinion polls and cinema quizzes.

Two unique features of bollywoodcountry.com are sections called Bollywood Abroad and Down Memory Lane.

The Bollywood Abroad section caters to the 25 million-strong Indian Diaspora while Down Memory Lane provides the Gen-X moviegoers an opportunity to know about the history of Indian films.
