Gone are the days when shoots were scheduled keeping the lead stars' dates in mind.. and if one character actor wasn't available, another would be signed up, pronto. These days films aren't set up without the support of the supporting cast.
No wonder then that Soha Ali Khan and Sharman Joshi's dates have gone waste because co-actor Boman Irani can't start shooting before May.
A couple of months ago, UTV had signed Khan, Joshi and Irani for a psychological thriller to be directed by Saurabh Usha Narang. Initially, the movie was scheduled to start in December 2007. But before that could happen Irani signed up to host a quiz show on television, Bollywood ka Boss. And the shoot was postponed to January.
A source associated with the project reveals that Irani is so preoccupied with the show that there's no way he can commit dates for the movie.
"So despite having Soha and Sharman's dates, the filmmakers have no option but to wait for Boman because he fits the role to the T. So rather than replace him they'd rather wait for him," says the source. Representatives at UTV were unavailable for comment.
