Train movement on Bhopal-Bina section was suspended for nearly two hours on Thursday after reports of an object resembling a timer device, found adjacent to the tracks near Bhadbhada station created panic, Railway sources said.
However, it turned out to be a hoax, they added.
Bomb disposal squad was rushed to the train tracks at Bhadbhada, nearly 24 km from Bhopal, which found that the clock-like object was a piece of toy, a West-Central Railway spokesman said.
Normal rail traffic on both directions, which remained suspended for two hours, resumed later, he said.
Trains including the Tamil Nadu Express, Bhopal-Lucknow Express and Bilaspur Express, were delayed due to the exercise carried out after a caller informed the Bhadbhada railway station about the object, sources said.
Though panic gripped those present at the railway station, situation normalised after the object was thoroughly examined and traffic restored, they added.
