Bookies, bettors identified
THE POLICE have so far identified 75 persons including 15 bookies and 40 bettors in the major cricket-betting racket busted from a house in Danish Kunj at Kolar Road a few days ago.
THE POLICE have so far identified 75 persons including 15 bookies and 40 bettors in the major cricket-betting racket busted from a house in Danish Kunj at Kolar Road a few days ago.
According to ASP Dr G K Pathak, the bookies identified include Raman Kakani of Indore, who is said to be the kingpin of betting rackets in MP, Bablu Agrawal of Gwalior, Anil, Ratnesh, Jaggu alias Bhaskar Sindhi all of Bairagarh, Bhalla Sardar of Jehangirabad, Jaikishan of Ujjain, Pradeep Lalwani, Subhash Agrawal, both of Idgah Hills, Dayaldas Jethani of Kolar Road, Kallu of Nagpur, Suresh Khanchandani of Bairagarh, Mazarullah, Beldarpura, Mahendra Gupta, all of Chandbad and Atul Agrawal of Ratlam.
Amongst the main bettors identified so far are Arun, Chowk Bazar, Ashok, New Market, Sanjay Srivastava, Chaya Studio Bhopal, Naresh Soni and Rakesh Soni, both of Chowk Bazar, Santosh, Bairagarh, Raja, Saurabh, Vijay Agrawal, Bhupesh Sindhi, Deepak Srivastava, Manoj Sindhi, Papu, all of Pipariya, Kara Sindhi, Bairagarh, Girish, Old Bhopal, Yatin, Bus Stand, Krishna Gupta, Jawahar Chowk, Shankar Sindhi, Satish Jain, Rajkumar, Ambar, Vikram, Ramesh Kumar and Vasu Sindhi.
Police have so far been able to decode data from one of the computers seized from the house. Experts were working on decoding the remaining data on the other computer seized and police hope to identify the remaining bookies and bettors very soon, Dr Pathak added.
