Despite border tension and rise in temperature due to statements from the Pakistani side, India and Pakistan are continuing with their roadmap to re-engage with a delegation of Pakistan Rangers slated to arrive in Delhi on September to hold talks with the Border Security Force (BSF).

Sources said the dates for the director-general level talks between Pakistan Rangers and BSF has been fixed for September 9-13, which will take place as a follow up to the decision taken by Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Nawaz Sharif when they met in Ufa, Russia, on July 10.

The ranger delegation-led by Maj. Gen. Bilal Akbar (DG Rangers Sindh) and DG Maj. Gen. Umer Farooq Burki (DG Rangers Punjab) is likely to hold talks at the Border Security Force headquarters here. The delegation is expected to come here through the Attari-Wagah land border in Punjab.
