Highlight Story

IN A shocking incident, a 15-year-old boy was murdered on Monday reportedly by some youths who were teasing the deceased’s sister. The victim is Lokesh son of Badrilal Kataria, resident of Nehru Nagar.

According to reports, three youths of the locality were teasing his sister following which the two had an altercation on December 10. The police on Monday morning received information that a body was lying on the Ring Road near Malanwasa.

He was stabbed in his neck several times. ASP Veneet Khanna, CSP Rajesh Mishra and others reached the spot and began investigations.

Lokesh was a Class 8 student and was youngest in the family. The police have taken two youths, including one Sandeep, into custody. Repeated incidents in the city in the past few days have shocked the residents. Sources said the matter was of a love affair as Sandeep and Lokesh’s sister reportedly knew and liked each other.

Police blasted
HAD THE police acted on the written complaint by the victim’s father a week ago, Lokesh’s life could have been saved. Kataria had handed over the complaint at Madhav Nagar police station on December 10 explaining that a person was abusing them over phone.

He also mentioned that the number, from which the calls are made, 9827040464, was of Sandeep (Kataria handed over an acknowledged copy to the Hindustan Times). Kataria demanded immediate action against Sandeep but the police did not pay heed, resulting in the murder case. Amazingly, the cops are expressing ignorance over the complaint.

CSP Rajesh Mishra said he was unaware of any such complaint and they were searching at the police station.
