JABALPUR FALTERED after a sound start on Tuesday, the second day of the Maharaja Yeshwantrao Memorial Senior Division Cricket Tournament match being played at Bab-e-Aali Stadium. They were 178 for the loss of four wickets in reply to Bhopal’s 415.

Bhopal resumed at the overnight score of 309 runs for the loss of five wickets. Undefeated Brajesh Tomar and Satish Kumar added 31 runs.

After completing his half-century Satish attempted to hit Ajay over the infield and was caught by Jyotish at his individual score of 55. Brajesh also lost his wicket at his individual score of 125 runs. Nikhil claimed his wicket. Bhopal scored 415 in the first innings. Ajay and Yogesh of Jabalpur took three wickets each. Nikhil, Amit and Jyotish claimed one each.

Jabalpur openers Shashank Singh and Brajesh Patel put on 64 for the first wicket. But at this point Brajesh retired hurt at his individual score of 45. His departure from the wicket saw loss of four wickets in quick succession.

While the team was struggling to score, Brajesh resumed batting. He played an important role by scoring 87 runs. Shashank Singh provided a good support to him by scoring 49 runs. Brajesh added 60 runs with Shashank after resuming batting at the score of 116 runs.  

At the end of the day’s play, Jabalpur had scored 176 runs for the loss of four wickets. Shashank and Brajesh were at the crease.

For Bhopal, Sunny Bhatnagar scalped two wickets conceding 28 runs while Sohail Masood claimed one wicket. One batsman was run out.
