Brothers kill wives, hide in mom?s home

india Updated: Jan 11, 2007 14:47 IST

THE CITY Crime Branch on Wednesday caught the two brothers who had murdered their wives, who were sisters, and were hiding at their mother’s house in Mhow. The culprits had also managed to get job at the Cantonment Board.

The Police received a tip-off that the sons of Krishnabai, staying in Mhow, were accused in dowry death cases registered at the Sadar Police Station, Agra.

A team, sent to Mhow, arrested Deepak (23) and his younger brother Dilip, sons of Ranjeet — a resident of Hastinapur, Agra. In 2002, Dilip had murdered his wife Sonibai and Deepak his wife Anita.

Sadar Police Station, Agra, had registered cases under Section 498, 304 B of IPC and 314 Dowry Act against them. Soon after the incident, the brothers absconded and apparently landed in Mhow to stay with their mother, who is a sweeper employed by the Cantonment Board. Later, they also got employment with the Cantonment Board.

The five brothers of the deceased sisters pursued the case. Earlier, the Agra police had received information that the murderers were hiding at their relative’s place in Gujarat. However, the Agra police later found that the brothers were living with their mother in Mhow and informed their Indore counterpart. Later, the Crime Branch  picked them up. The Agra police have been informed.
