Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Dharamsala circle, held a consumer awareness workshop here on Wednesday.

The workshop was inaugurated by Kangra deputy commissioner C Paul Rasu. Senior general manager JC Maneria said Himachal was on the third number in the country in terms of telephone connections per 100 persons.

“Himachal has 104 telephone connections over 100 persons, which includes both landline and mobile phones,” said Maneria.

Informing about the company's plan for the Dharamsala circle in the current fiscal year, Maneria said 77 new mobile towers would be set up in the region that included revenue districts, Kangra and Chamba, to strengthen the network. He also advised the consumers to approach the senior officials in case they face any problem with the company's services.

Member of advisory committee SD Bhardwaj suggested the BSNL officials to provide quality services to the consumer.

The locals present on the occasion apprised the BNSL officials about problems pertaining to the services in their respective areas.
