BSP announces 100 more names

BSP supremo Mayawati on Thursday announced the names of candidates for 100 Vidhan Sabha seats located in Gorakhpur, Basti, Azamgarh, Devi Patan and Faizabad divisions.

BSP  supremo Mayawati on Thursday announced the names of candidates for 100 Vidhan Sabha seats located in Gorakhpur, Basti, Azamgarh, Devi Patan and Faizabad divisions.

All sitting MLAs were directed to start preparations for the polls . Deserters from the rival parties were also rewarded with tickets. Caste equations in each district were taken care off in the distribution of tickets. In the meeting, Mayawati enquired the candidates as what would be their strategies if the rival parties field candidates belonging to the same caste.

In Barabanki, the party has decided to field Dharni Rawat from Siddhaur; Farid Ahmed Kidwai- Masauli; Sangram Singh- Nawabganj; Vivekanand Pandey- Dariyabad; Ashok Singh- Rudauli and Ashutosh Awasthi from Haidergarh .    

Mayawati finalised candidates for the majority of seats in the Gorakhpur division.

From Gorakhpur Sadar seat, selection of Vinod Upadhyay surprised all as Ashok Srivasatava who contested the last election was considered a front-runner. For the remaining seats, Sahjanwa- GM Singh; Bansgaon- Sadal Prasad; Kauriram- Ambika Singh; Chillupar- Shyamlal Yadav; Dhuriyapar- Lal Amin Khan; Mundera Bazar- Hari Lal; Pipraich- Jamuna Nishad have got the party ticket.

In Maharajganj district, Nirmesh Mangal got ticket from Maharajganj Sadar, RK Mishra- Sishwa, Fateh Bahadur Singh- Paniyara, Dr Aziz Ahmed- Laxmipur, Mehdi Hasan- Shyamdeurwa.

In Kushinagar district, the name of the candidate from Padrauna Sadar seat was not announced. While Ramshankar Kushwaha got ticket from Kasya seat, Nathuni Prasad from Seorahi, CD Gautam from Nebua Naurangia, Dr BN Singh from Ramkola and Rampreet Jakhmi from Hata seat.

In Deoria district, Pramod Singh got ticket from Gauri Bazar seat, Suresh Tiwari- Rudrapur, Kamlesh Shukla- Deoria, MA Lari- Salempur, Ram Prasad Jaiswal – Barhaj and Jagdish Mishra alias Balti Baba will be BSP candidate from Fazilnagar Vidhan Sabha seat.

In Basti division, BSP has fielded Javed from Etwah Vidhan Sabha seat against Vidhan Sabha speaker Mata Prasad Pandey. Ashok Singh will contest from Dumariyaganj Vidhan Sabha seat, Ravi Prakash Chaudhary on Naugarh Vidhan Sabha seat, Anil Singh on Harraiya seat, Bhagwan on Khalilabad, Ram Sidharey- Haishar Bazar and Mashoor Alam on Mehdawal seat.

In Balrampur district, candidates were finalised on two seats including Gasadi- Alauddin Khan and Sadullah Nagar- Radheyshyam Verma. While the candidates on three seats including Utraula, Tulsipur and Balarmpur were not finalised. In Sultanpur district, Akhand Pratap Singh will be the BSP candidate from Sadar seat, Arvind Shukla from Amethi and Vinod Kumar Singh from Chanda seat.

In Ambedkar Nagar district all sitting MLAs got ticket, while Sher Bahadur Singh will contest from Jalalpur. In Azamgarh district Angad Yadav will contest from Nizamabad, Maullick Mohammad from Sagri, Shyama Yadav from Gopalpur, Surendra Mishra Atraulia.

In Faizabad district Jitendra  Singh will contest on Bhikapur seat, Anand Sen on Milkipur seat and Ashok Tewari on Ayodhya seat.
