An assistant engineer with the Arunachal Pradesh government was nabbed with 43 live bullets while attempting to board a Delhi-bound flight in Nagpur on Sunday, police said.
Kardoriba Ikriba, 46, hails from Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh, according to Sonegaon Police Station officer Vasudev Dudhatwar.
"He had come to meet his daughter who lives and studies in Chandrapur and was proceeding to New Delhi. Apparently, he carried the live bullets in his baggage by mistake, but we are investigating," Dudhatwar said.
Ikriba has been arrested.
Dudhatwar said that the accused was in possession of a gun licence and the bullets were detected while he was proceeding to board the flight from Nagpur airport.
