Burdwan blast: Prime accused, three more held
The National Intelligence Agency (NIA) sleuths, probing the Khagragarh explosion case, arrested Habibur Rahaman, a prime accused of the October 2 Burdwan blast, from Murshidabad. He worked as a cook in a madrasa there.
Rahaman, a resident of Upordiha area under Berhampore police station in Murshidabad, is allegedly an activist of the Bangladeshi militant outfit, JMB.
The NIA sleuths have arrested three more persons from Nadia and Burdwan in connection with the blast.
According to intelligence sources, only women studied in the madrasa and they used to get jihadi training on a regular basis. The NIA sleuths seized jihadi literature from the madrasa and then sealed it.
Reportedly, during the interrogation Rahaman has confessed his links with the Khagragarh bombers.
Rafia Bibi, Rahaman’s wife has alleged that her husband has been tortured to confess.
“As a cook at the madrasa he met many people. But he was there for only five odd months. He has no connection with the Khagragarh bombers,” she said.
